Early DRAFT - details to follow

Foss2serve is working to create an "on-ramp" for students, instructors, and others interested in becoming participants in humanitarian open source projects. Enabling faculty members is central to this effort. This focus on faculty members will provide the multiplier effect that will make it possible to scale-up foss2serve.

Our model for supporting faculty members includes five elements. The first four of those elements relate to instructor preparation. The fifth element is course materials that instructors can adopt in their teaching. The elements are:

  • Face-to-face workshops for instructors
  • Online pre-workshop learning and practice activities
  • Online post workshop learning and practice activities
  • Community mentoring and support for the three elements above
  • Teaching materials
