Gregory Hislop

Gregory Hislop is on the faculty of the College of Information Science and Technology (the iSchool) at Drexel University.

Gregory Hislop is a faculty member and former Associate Dean of the College of Information Science and Technology at Drexel University. He has been extensively involved with curriculum management for the College’s computing degrees, and currently is Director of the Software Engineering program. He has also been involved with the College's online education programs since 1995. Dr. Hislop also holds a joint appointment in the Department of Computer Science. Prior to coming to Drexel University, Dr. Hislop spent nearly twenty years working with information technology in commercial and governmental organizations. He holds degrees in economics, computer science, and information science and technology.

Dr. Hislop's current interests include developing ways for students to participate in Humanitarian Open Source Software projects. He has been PI or Co-PI on several NSF grants in this area. His other current funded work relates to vertically integrated student teams, and development of a national digital library for computing education.

In his spare time, which is mostly non-existent, Dr. Hislop likes outdoor activities including camping, hiking, and cycling. He also sails and races in J-27 keel boats on the Delaware River.
